Or, you can just buy it in a bookstore. That's a link to Amazon, of course, but I just bought my copy from the general bookstore at the mall in Ames. If you want, I'd be happy to lend you a copy. I recommend reading it in book form. Books still rock.)
So far as I can tell, the Ames Free Unix Group (aka AAFUGIT aka AmesFUG) is no longer active in any way, save for the content archive.org or domain squatters maintain. It was fun.
We made a trip to the Des Moines Farmers' Market this summer (when was that? 2003? 2004? Earlier? Dang, time flies). It was OK. What was really fun was what we found on a somewhat random drive around the area, near the confluence of the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers, just south of the stadium: Graziano Brothers' (map) grocery store. Very good stuff there.
I drop in on the web archive of the UCSC Linux Users' Group (SlugLUG) mailing lists, on occasion. It's good to see that they're still going strong. Plus, it's a place to keep an eye open for fun new rants from Rick Moen.
I used to have some personal pictures of family, friends, and co-workers here, but that was a long time ago, BF (before Flickr and its ilk). I mostly don't bother now, other than to send a private link or an attachment every great once in a while.

I still have a slight interest in computer-mediated communications--it seems to be all the rage these days, what with the cool new kids and their IM and SMS and so on and so forth and things of that nature. My long time interest had been specifically in computer conferences inspired by Picospan.
