Katherine Maher, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) announced her resignation as CEO this week, Thursday, 4 February 2021.
In her announcement, she pointed to WMF's adoption of a Universal Code of Conduct as one of the achievements under her watch.
She also pointed to WMF's financial strength as one of the things that made now a good time for a transition in leadership.
